Angela was born in Wisconsin, but moved to Atlanta, Georgia when she was in middle school. She graduated from North Springs High School in 1992 and attended Georgia Southern University where she studied finance and, at the same time, worked as a Financial Representative for Fleet Finance in Statesboro.
Angela’s legal career began in 2002 as a receptionist for a personal injury law firm in Atlanta. Within a few short months, she was performing the duties of a legal assistant and, in 2003, she was promoted to Office Manager/Lead Legal Assistant. In this capacity, she handled not only the day-to-day operations of the law firm, but also worked with clients and kept track of the litigation cases for the firm.
Angela returned to the south in 2009 with her son, Eli, and began building her home in Metter with her husband, Roman Mercer. She became a resident of Metter in the fall of 2011 and joined CarterFranklin, LLP only a few months later in January, 2012. She assists both attorneys of the firm, but her primary responsibility is personal injury litigation. When she is not hard at work, Angela enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Sheena was born in Saint Mary’s, Georgia, and moved to Metter the summer of 2002. She graduated from Metter High School in 2006 and attended Georgia Southern University.
She joined the firm in December, 2013 as a legal assistant and the newest member to the legal field. Sheena has quickly taken to the legal world and assists both attorneys in the areas of estate planning and probate matters. She also handles the firm’s accounting and is likely the first voice you will hear when you call our office. She is excited to learn more about the legal field and works closely with Angela to become familiar with personal injury litigation.
Sheena is married to Cody Burnsed of Claxton, Georgia. They moved from Metter to Claxton in January of 2014. When she is not in the office, she enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.
